Introduction and scope

This policy applies to the IELTS Prep by VioletIQ app (package com.bandup.ielts) and its related web services. VioletIQ is an IELTS learning app; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of IELTS.

Information we handle

• Account information. Your name, email address and Supabase account identifier when you create or use an account.
• Profile and study-goal information. IELTS type, current and target band, exam date, daily study goal and weakest skill when you provide them.
• Learning progress. Practice outcomes, progress summaries, saved vocabulary and related activity used to provide your learning experience.
• Text you choose to submit. Writing or typed speaking responses, questions and relevant learning context when you request available AI feedback or assessment features.
• Device-local data. Guest-mode identity, session data, drafts, attempt state and progress may be kept in browser or app local storage on your device.

How we use information

We use this information to create and maintain your account, save authenticated learning progress, provide the selected learning modules, show personalised study information, respond to password-reset requests, and provide text-based AI feedback where that feature is available.

Storage and third parties

VioletIQ uses Supabase for account authentication and the application database. Authenticated profile, progress and saved-vocabulary information is sent to and stored through Supabase. Guest-mode data is kept locally on the device unless you later create or use an account.

The app implements a server-side, OpenAI-compatible cloud AI provider boundary for selected text-based features. When an AI feature is available and you choose to use it, the text and relevant learning context needed to answer the request may be sent through that service. The app does not implement speech-to-text or text-to-speech processing in this release.

We do not identify any product-analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or behavioural-tracking SDK in the current release implementation.

Microphone and recordings

The Speaking feature may request microphone permission so you can record a response. Recorded audio stays in the active browser or app session as a local recording. The current release does not upload that recording to Supabase, cloud storage, an AI provider or VioletIQ AI Tutor. Re-recording, deleting the recording, leaving the prompt or closing the relevant session removes the local recording resources used by the app.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information is processed by the services described above only to operate the app and requested AI features. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law or to protect the app and its users.

Security and retention

The app uses Supabase authentication and database services for authenticated account data. We do not make a claim in this policy about a specific encryption standard or an AI-provider retention period. Account, profile, progress and saved-vocabulary records remain in the service until they are changed, reset or a verified deletion request is processed. Local device data remains until it is cleared by the app, browser/app storage controls, or app removal.

Your choices and account deletion

You can use guest mode, sign out, reset progress and manage some profile details in the app. The current release does not provide automated in-app account deletion.

Children

VioletIQ does not include an age-verification or parental-consent workflow. If you are under 13, do not create an account or provide personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us using the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
